Client Checklist

For your convenience, please have this checklist filled out in preparation for our Get Acquainted Visit.

Food - Have an ample supply on hand in the event you may stay away longer than anticipated. Where is food kept? Serving size? Treats?

Medication - Have an ample supply in the event you may stay away longer than anticipate. Veterinarian authorization filled out? Any minor or major health concerns? Allergies/conditions? Where do you keep medication? What is it treating? Dosage schedule? Pet carrier location?

Exercise & Play - Pets have identification and vaccinations on their collars? Allow him to run the yard or stay indoors except for walk time? Where do you keep the leash? Where do you keep favorite toys? To save pet sitter panic, does he have a favorite hiding place? Where does he sleep? Escape artist? History of snapping or biting? Habits we should know about?

Cleanups - Where is the kitty litter kept? Where are mops, brooms, vacuum, trash bags, cleanup supplies? Where is your pooper scooper for the yard? Where to dispose of poop or litter?

Home - Please leave everything needed for the care of your pet in one general area so the sitter doesn't have to search.

Provide 2 keys and make sure they work before you give them to us.

2 local emergency contacts - friends, neighbors, or relatives? You may want to inform neighbors that a pet sitter will be making visits to your home. It's a good idea for you to give them our business card in case of emergency.

Who else has a key? Who else has permission to access your home while you are away? Where is security system location and code? Entry process? Arming process? Accidental alarm activation? Gates, locks, fence gaps? Mailbox/newspaper? Location of trash cans and day of pickup? Electric circuit box location? Gardeners, pool service schedules? Are there any rooms that are "off limits" for pets and sitters? How often and how much water for plants? Open and close window coverings? Radio and lighting schedule?

Your travel plans and how to reach you - Where are you going? Departure time, date, and flight? Arrival at destination? What hotel will you be staying at? When are you departing to come home? Anticipated arrival home date and time?

If you will be returning earlier or later than expected, call to inform us as soon as you know.

Please call us or e-mail us as soon as you arrive home to let us know that you are back, so we know to discontinue our visits.
